1. What these terms cover

Debelu provides a campus marketplace where people discover listings, communicate about purchases and use order and payment tools. These terms govern your use of those tools. The Vendor Agreement adds seller obligations; the Community Guidelines explain acceptable conduct.

Read the relevant listing and order details before paying. A product sale involves the buyer and the identified seller. Debelu’s role in operating the marketplace does not remove obligations that apply to Debelu or the seller under law.

2. Eligibility and legal capacity

Use the service only when you can lawfully agree to these terms and carry out the proposed transaction. If you cannot legally agree on your own behalf, do not trade without the authorization and supervision required by applicable law. Do not misrepresent your identity or authority to act for someone else.

Debelu is designed around campus communities. Selecting a campus or creating an account does not establish student identity, age, seller approval or any professional qualification. Seller access may require additional information and review.

3. Account information and security

Provide accurate account information and keep your contact details current. You are responsible for safeguarding access to your account and for actions you authorize. Do not share passwords, login codes or session links, buy or sell accounts, or impersonate another person.

If you suspect unauthorized activity, change your password where possible and contact help@debelu.com. Report security concerns to security@debelu.com; do not include credentials in your report.

4. Buyer and seller roles

A buyer account does not automatically provide seller permissions. Sellers must complete the store setup and review steps required in their account, provide accurate information and maintain a lawful right to sell their products.

Verification describes a reviewed account or store state. It is not a warranty of every listing, product, qualification or future action. Buyers should still check product details and the store’s actual displayed state.

5. Listings and product information

Sellers must disclose the item’s price, condition, quantity, relevant specifications, defects, restrictions and any agreed delivery charges. Used or reconditioned goods must be clearly described. Do not claim stock, warranties, affiliations or authenticity that you cannot substantiate.

Listing content must not promote unlawful goods, stolen or counterfeit items, unsafe products or prohibited services. Buyers should ask about missing details before ordering. See the Community Guidelines for examples.

6. Placing and fulfilling an order

Review the product, seller and total order details before payment. An order record helps identify what was agreed, payment activity and the next fulfillment step. Sellers should confirm availability and explain delivery or pickup arrangements and material delays.

A listing is not an unconditional guarantee of availability. If an item cannot be supplied as agreed, the seller must communicate promptly and use the applicable cancellation or refund process rather than substitute a different item without agreement.

7. Prices and fees

Buying and listing are free. The applicable seller fee and seller share are explained on the Pricing page and in the Vendor Agreement. Review the relevant checkout and payment information for any separately disclosed delivery or payment-related charge.

Prices and charges must be explained before commitment. A calculator is an illustration, not a promise of bank processing time or a quotation of all possible third-party charges. Sellers remain responsible for their pricing and applicable taxes.

8. Payment through the vault

Pay through the official order flow so payment can be connected to the order and held under its rules. Do not follow a message asking for your login credentials or an unrelated payment link. Payments made outside Debelu cannot be held or recovered through Debelu’s vault.

The vault is part of the order process, not an investment, savings product or guarantee that every transaction will be successful. Payment providers may apply verification, security and processing requirements.

9. Inspection and payment release

Inspect the purchase before sharing the delivery PIN. The PIN is an order-completion action and is different from a password or login code. Never send it to someone before receiving and checking the item.

Sharing your delivery PIN after inspection releases funds to the seller’s wallet. If no PIN is shared and no dispute is opened, funds are automatically released three days after delivery.

Automatic release is an order rule, not a cancellation of any non-waivable consumer right. If an issue appears after release, keep the evidence and contact support rather than assume every remedy is unavailable.

10. Delivery and safe handover

Delivery and pickup arrangements depend on the listing and seller. Confirm the location, timing, charges and who is responsible for any delivery service. Choose a safe, convenient handover and do not enter a situation that makes you feel unsafe.

Keep communications and evidence connected to the order where possible. Check the condition, quantity and agreed accessories. A seller should allow a reasonable opportunity for inspection instead of pressuring a buyer to release the PIN.

11. Cancellations, returns and refunds

If you need to cancel or return an order, use the available order controls or contact support with its reference. Explain the reason and preserve the listing, communications and relevant photos. Eligibility and the appropriate remedy depend on the issue, the transaction and applicable law.

A seller’s stated policy, a PIN action or an expired platform reporting step cannot waive a consumer right that Nigerian law does not allow to be waived. We do not impose a blanket “no refunds” condition. Any valid return arrangement should explain safe return, inspection and the refund route; do not send money twice to obtain a refund.

12. Disputes and escalation

If an order is wrong, do not share the PIN. Report the issue from the order with clear evidence. An open dispute keeps funds held while the issue is reviewed. Buyers and sellers must provide accurate information and should not tamper with records, threaten each other or submit a fabricated claim.

Review does not guarantee a particular outcome or fixed completion time. Ask for an explanation or reconsideration through dispute guidance or support. Internal review does not prevent a complaint to the FCCPC or recourse to a competent court.

13. Wallet balances and withdrawals

Release to the seller’s wallet and withdrawal to a bank are separate steps. Follow the account’s withdrawal controls and any required verification. Timing can depend on processing, bank availability, security review and an unresolved order issue.

Do not use an account or payout details that you are not authorized to control. Report a balance or payment discrepancy with the transaction reference. Closing an account does not extinguish a valid outstanding payment, refund, dispute or legal obligation.

14. Your content and intellectual property

You retain the rights you hold in photos, listing descriptions and other content you submit. You grant Debelu permission to host, display, format and transmit that content as needed to provide the service and handle the associated order, support or moderation record.

Only upload content you are entitled to use. Do not copy another seller’s photographs without permission or misrepresent a brand relationship. Debelu’s own identity and site materials remain protected; use the supplied brand resources appropriately.

15. Nduzi and other assistance

Nduzi and AI-assisted support can help explore options or prepare an explanation. Outputs may be incomplete or inaccurate and are not professional advice, confirmed stock or authorization to complete a purchase. Check listings, prices, seller details and the actual order controls.

Do not submit passwords, delivery PINs or unnecessary sensitive information to an assistant. A conversation example is not a live result. See Nduzi guidance and the Privacy Policy for related information.

16. Restrictions, suspension and reconsideration

Debelu may restrict a listing or account to address suspected fraud, unsafe conduct, unlawful activity, security risks or a breach of these terms. The response should be appropriate to the issue and may include a warning, removal, temporary restriction or termination.

Where lawful and safe, the affected person should receive a useful explanation and can request reconsideration with supporting information through support. We may limit disclosure where it would expose another person’s data, interfere with an investigation or facilitate abuse. Restrictions do not automatically forfeit a lawful balance or remove existing rights.

17. Availability and responsibility

Features and services may be interrupted or changed, and third-party systems can affect availability. Check the Status page for reported information. We do not promise uninterrupted operation or that every error can be prevented.

Each participant is responsible for their own obligations and conduct. Nothing in these terms excludes responsibility that cannot lawfully be excluded, removes statutory consumer protections, or excuses fraud or an unlawful use of personal data. Loss, causation and responsibility must be assessed under the applicable law rather than a blanket waiver.

18. Governing law, changes and contact

These terms operate under Nigerian law, including applicable consumer and data-protection requirements. Parties may try support and reconsideration first, but no exclusive foreign forum or compulsory private arbitration is imposed here. Regulatory remedies and competent courts remain available.

Material changes should be made available before they apply, with additional notice where required. An update does not retroactively remove rights relating to an earlier transaction. Contact legal@debelu.com for terms questions and help@debelu.com for a particular order. Read the FCCPC’s consumer-rights guidance for independent information.
