Cookie Policy
Cookies, browser storage and cached resources used by Debelu.
1. The technologies covered
A cookie is a small value stored by your browser for a website. Local storage keeps values on your device separately from cookies, and a browser or service-worker cache can retain website resources. This notice covers those technologies where Debelu uses them.
The purpose matters as much as the technology: maintaining a requested login is different from an optional measurement or marketing activity. This notice should be read with the Privacy Policy.
2. Authentication and security
The sign-in service can use authentication cookies or browser storage to maintain and refresh a session. Server and browser features may need those values to know whether a request is authorized and to carry out the activity you requested.
Clearing or blocking session storage may sign you out or stop an authenticated feature working. Never copy session cookies or storage values into a message, screenshot or support email; they can contain access information.
3. Choices you ask the website to remember
Debelu stores selected display preferences, such as theme, in local storage. Account or campus preferences can also be associated with the profile or the relevant feature. A stored preference is not a verification of your identity or campus status.
You can change an available preference in its control, or remove the site’s stored data through browser settings. A preference removed from one browser may remain in another browser or in your account record.
4. Cached website resources
The website can register a service worker and the browser can cache resources to help pages load. Cached files are not the same as an order record stored by the marketplace. Clearing a cache does not necessarily delete your account or messages.
On a shared device, sign out and use the browser’s site-data controls when appropriate. Removing cached resources may require them to be downloaded again and can affect offline behavior.
5. Optional analytics and tracking
Optional interaction measurement, where used, needs its own purpose and an appropriate choice. Read the notice presented for that feature to understand what is collected and whether a third-party service receives it.
Any optional tracking must have an appropriate legal basis, clear information and a usable choice where consent is required. A future optional tracking feature should explain its purpose and how to withdraw the choice before it starts; necessary authentication is not permission for unrelated advertising.
6. Third-party features
Authentication, payment or another feature may use a provider’s own storage when you interact with it or follow its page. The provider’s notice explains its independent uses; Debelu’s service-provider page describes the relevant purposes.
A link to an external website does not make its cookies Debelu’s cookies. Read its controls and privacy notice before submitting information. Do not accept a suspicious payment or account link solely because it mentions Debelu.
7. Managing browser data
Your browser settings can show or remove cookies, local storage and cached files for a site, and can restrict third-party storage. The exact controls depend on the browser and device. Changes normally affect that browser, not every device or your marketplace account.
Removing necessary storage can sign you out or interrupt a feature. If you want to delete the account itself, use the account-deletion guidance; clearing cookies is not an account-deletion request.
8. Duration and consent questions
A value’s duration depends on its purpose and the technology: some expire with a session, some persist until changed or cleared, and provider session values can be refreshed. This notice does not promise a single lifetime for every value.
For information about a particular cookie or stored value, contact privacy@debelu.com with its name and the page where you saw it, without sending its secret value. Where consent applies, you can ask how to withdraw it.
9. Updates and independent guidance
If optional tracking is added or its purpose changes, the relevant notice and controls should be updated rather than treat continued browsing as agreement to an unrelated use. A privacy question can be raised without accepting marketing.
Nigeria’s data-protection framework includes the NDP Act and the final GAID. The NDPC provides independent guidance and complaint information.
