How to open a store on Debelu, sell safely and get paid.

1. Opening your store2. Good listings3. Getting orders4. Hand-over and the delivery PIN5. Fees and withdrawals6. When an order needs help

1. Opening your store

  • Go to Start Selling and create your Debelu account.
  • Apply to sell with your store name, a short description, your campus and a photo of your student ID.
  • A person on the Debelu team reviews your application. You are notified when you can start listing.

2. Good listings

  • Photos: take two or three clear, well-lit photos of the actual item. Avoid screenshots and stock photos.
  • Details: give the size, colour, condition and where on campus buyers can collect it.
  • Category and shop section: choose them carefully so buyers browsing that section can find your item.

3. Getting orders

When a buyer pays, the money is held by Debelu and you get a notification in the app. You can also turn on push, email or WhatsApp alerts in your notification settings. Accept the order from your seller dashboard, then agree on pickup or delivery with the buyer in chat.

4. Hand-over and the delivery PIN

  • Agree a populated, well-lit meeting place. Let the buyer inspect the item before asking for their delivery PIN. Never ask for a password or login code.
  • Enter the PIN on the order. The order completes and the money, less Debelu's fee, moves to your Debelu wallet.
  • If you mark an order delivered and the buyer neither confirms it nor opens a dispute, the money is released to you automatically after 3 days.

5. Fees and withdrawals

Listing is free. A service fee applies to each completed sale; check the current fee on the Pricing page. Add your Nigerian bank account in your store settings, then withdraw from your wallet whenever you like. Debelu reviews each withdrawal and sends it to your bank through Paystack, and you are notified when it has been paid.

6. When an order needs help

Describe products accurately, keep order messages and handover evidence, and respond if the team requests information during a dispute. Do not pressure a buyer to share their delivery PIN when there is an unresolved problem.
